How NOT to transport your cakes

Happy Monday everyone, for those who don't know, cakes are very fragile and need to be handled with the best of care to ensure that it doesn't get damaged during transit. I'm sure you've seen a damaged cake and the last thing I want as a baker is for you not to be able to enjoy your order in the way that you have intended to.

In this short blog, I am going to discuss how NOT to transport your cakes or any bakes as a matter of fact!

Cakes should not be transported at an angle nor leaning against your chest, if you do this you are waiting for a disaster to happen.

Transporting your cakes on your lap, someone else's or the passengers seat is not a good idea because it is not completely flat surface and would not provide you with the security and stability you need for the duration of the journey.

Having things sitting on top of the cake or the box itself as well as things leaning against it could cause damage the cake and may not be a quick fix.

Having the heating on - if it is too warm it in the car, you cake could start melting and may not last the journey.

Drive fast and recklessly - this goes without saying but slowly and with care is key.

Keeps your eyes peeled for my next post where I will be sharing how to transport a cake safely.
