For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you would know that I recently celebrated my sons birthday and in this blog, I am going to discuss exactly what I did to make it happen!
Due to the restrictions on gatherings, we knew that we would not be able to have party for him like how we did in 2019 but we still wanted to make it special for him and make the most of the current situation.
Venue - our house.
Theme - my son is really into Minecraft so I knew that the theme for his party was going to be Minecraft related. After doing some research with my son on Google, Youtube and Pinterest, I knew exactly what I was going to do.
Decorations - I bought some green and black as well as a helium-filled number balloon and made a simple balloon column on his birthday while he was at school and surprised him with it in the afternoon.
Food & drink - my son is a massive fan of Lebanese food and particular loves their rice so we treated him to his favourite takeaway for this birthday!
Gifts - the majority were Minecraft related.
Cake - I knew that it was going to be a Minecraft one (of course) so I got my son involved by finding on what flavour/s he would like and he requested for a vanilla and chocolate one. I baked it, started to decorate it and then left my son, daughter and husband to finish it off which they really enjoyed. (After cutting it, we gave some to some family and his friends from school).
Although this is my son's has now celebrated two birthday during lockdown, we knew wanted to make more of an effort for this one and needless to say, he had a really good day!
If you have a birthday coming, don't cancel it but celebrate it and go as simple or as elaborate as you would like.
